About

I am a writer and historian living in Los Angeles.

In all of my work, I am focused on questions of embodiment, identity, and the tools we use to manipulate both. I write fiction and non-fiction. I give lectures and workshops. I curate exhibits, conduct interviews and oral histories, and design the occasional book. What I like best is collaborating with scholars, writers, artists, and museum professionals to make cool things.

I have a PhD in the history and sociology of science from the University of Pennsylvania and a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Chicago.

I have edited Somatosphere and Otium.
